AURIA.

London based Auria is a bold, vibrant and contemporary swimwear brand embracing the challenge to change the perception of sustainability since 2013. The aim: Keeping their values strong with fresh, fun and future thinking design, all the while maintaining integrity and putting environmental and social responsibility at the heart of Auria.

HOW THEY WORK

From the sea, for the sea: Auria swimwear is made from regenerated nylon waste. The waste comes from discarded fishing nets and old carpets amongst other materials which is the base of the sustainable fibre Econyl. Thousands of tonnes of waste are rescued around the world each year to extract nylon 6 and turn it into a high performance Econyl yarn. This actively reduced the amount of waste on the globe, saving fossil fuels and cleaning up the oceans. It is 100% generated and 100% regenerable. This means it can be used in a closed loop system—and used infinitely! Watch how it works in their video.

In today’s world we have many choices.
As a designer—choices to be sustainably conscious about what you make; from sourcing materials to paying close attention to every step of your supply chain. As a consumer—choices on what you buy and knowing where it came from.
